Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a marketing tool to increase the number of potential clients that see your website on Google for search terms related to your business and the services/products your business provides.
SEO is a great tool for many local businesses to allow people in the area to find your business. Data shows that about 70% of users on Google do not go past the first 3 results. If your business is not ranking in these positions, it will be hard for your prospects to find your business.
The possibilities are great for small businesses. For example, I’ve done SEO for my father’s auto repair shop for terms related to MD State Vehicle Inspection and car repair services. He tells me that he has to send customers to others shops at times because his shop cannot keep up with the amount of work that comes in. Of course, he provides tremendous value for his clients and builds great relationships with them, but the SEO has been a huge plus for his business.
